In February 2013, while living in Vietnam on a mission trip, almost 1 year after my daughter Samey was born. I received a mean spirited email from my sister informing me that my adult daughter, Lara had changed her last name to erase any memory of me.
This had deeply vexed my soul. I sat there for a moment and began praying, asking God to help me deal with this.
Suddenly The holy Spirit prompted me to journal the following:
Samey Nguyen Sheets was born on the morning of 21 April 2012. Lara Germaine Sheets (*my adult daughter) was born on the morning of 21 April 1982, exactly 30 years to the date earlier ((at almost the same hour). God is great. I have my daughter.
An old prophetess told me in 1977 before she died on or about April 21, that I would have a child who would be extremely significant in God’s kingdom, mighty servant of our Lord. I had always assumed it was Lara the Prophetess was referring to, but Lara turned her back on Jesus years ago. But praise God, the child of promise was given for such a time as this. I know with confidence it was my 2nd daughter the Prophetess was referring to. That’s why my 2nd daughter’s name comes from Samuel meaning Of God….
Looking at the birthdate of my daughters I see 4/21. The number 4 (4th month) and the number 21 (21s day). Look at the book of Genesis:
Genesis 4: Adam had 2 sons: the first was Cain who worshiped man and man’s work and ways over God. The second was Abel who truly loved, obeyed, and worshiped God.
Genesis 21: And Sarah bore Abraham a child named Isaac, the child of promise of God was the 2nd born. Ishmael was born 1st to Hager, the bondservant the child of flesh.
God promised that the older will serve the younger. Roman’s 9:12. And Romans 8-21: That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.
10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;
11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Exodus 19:29: “… thou hast spoken well.” When my adult daughter Lara spoke the words there would be no reference to me in her name, essentially erasing her inheritance to my legacy, she had set in force the ultimate eternal proclamation of her true destiny.
30 years apart: why were there 30 years? What’s the significance of 30?
30 in the bible represents — The Biblical Meaning of this number: comes from reference to the marking of the right moment.
Conclusion: My adult daughter has every right to change her last name to destroy any remnant of her inheritance to my legacy. She turned from God and eventually from me also. She was the child of flesh. My father warned me not to marry her mother. I disobeyed and married only to be heartbroken by her mother’s infidelity. My second daughter is the child of promise born exactly 30 years later on the exact date.
Praise God! Maranatha!
