Brethren,
Whenever you’re partaking of the Lord’s Table, be wary of teachers who would give you lengthy Pharisaical (“Pharisaic bullies who impose their notions on others”) doctrine, philosophical descriptions, complex ceremonial practices of what Communion is and is not, BEWARE! Another trap these false teachers use is a scripture that is not directly applied to the Lord’s Table. We are to only practice what is written in scripture that is directly applied to the communion.
If the same simplicity of the Gospel (We are saved by believing that Jesus Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures – 1 Corinthians 15:1-4); which is the New Testament (Jesus Christ came to save us from our sins and give us eternal life through his blood which was shed on the cross) is not applied to the partaking of the Lord’s Supper, and is NOT as simple as only a child can understand and the scripture clearly shows us, then it is WRONG!
I knew this as a child and my child understands this clearly as follows:
The communion of Jesus Christ is knowing and understanding this:
The Bread represents the Body of Christ. Period!
The Cup represents the Blood of Jesus Christ that erases ALL OF OUR SINS. Period!
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
AMEN!
